Privacy Policy

How we handle your personal information, and what you can do about it.

Template document. This policy is a starting point drafted to the structure of the Australian Privacy Principles. It must be reviewed and adapted by the firm — and ideally by a legal adviser — before publication. Placeholders are marked in bold.

Cashflow Financial Services Pty Ltd (ABN 51 681 677 403) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, and how we comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. What we collect

Depending on the services you engage us for, we may collect:

  • ·Identity and contact details, including name, address, phone, email and date of birth
  • ·Tax file numbers and ATO account information, which are subject to additional protections
  • ·Financial information, including income, assets, liabilities, bank and investment details
  • ·Superannuation and insurance details where we provide planning or SMSF services
  • ·Business records, where you engage us for business services
  • ·Information you submit through this website, including enquiry forms, the Tax Health Check and the chat assistant

2. How we collect it

Usually directly from you — in meetings, by phone, by email, or through the forms on this website. We may also collect information from third parties with your authority, such as the ATO, your previous accountant, superannuation funds, lenders or your other advisers.

3. Why we collect it

We use personal information to:

  • ·Provide the accounting, taxation, advisory, planning and related services you engage us for
  • ·Respond to enquiries you make through this website or by phone
  • ·Meet our obligations under tax, corporations, anti-money-laundering and professional standards law
  • ·Send you updates you have subscribed to, which you can stop at any time

4. Who we disclose it to

We may disclose personal information to:

  • ·The Australian Taxation Office and other government agencies, as required
  • ·Your other advisers, lenders, insurers or superannuation funds, with your authority
  • ·Service providers who support our practice, including software, hosting and email providers
  • ·Independent SMSF auditors, where we act for a fund

We do not sell personal information. Where any service provider stores data outside Australia, that must be identified here before publication.

5. This website

Forms on this site send the details you enter to our practice so we can respond. The chat assistant sends the text of your conversation to an AI provider to generate a reply; do not enter your tax file number or other sensitive identifiers into it. If analytics or advertising tools are added to this site, they must be disclosed in this section.

6. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep records for as long as required by tax and professional standards obligations, and then destroy or de-identify them.

7. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact us at contact@cashflowfinancial.com.au or on (02) 4258 3668. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
